ORLANDO, Fla. - Florida's Blood Centers are making an urgent appeal for O-negative blood donations.
Officials say the state's supply of O-negative blood has reached critically low levels.
O-negative is considered the universal blood type. It can be given to nearly any patient, regardless of their blood type. O-negative is considered critical for trauma patients, premature babies and emergency surgeries.
Florida's Blood Centers are encouraging O-negative donors to visit a donation site.
