LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Students are flooding the halls at Florida SouthWestern State College for the first day of classes.
Formerly known as Edison State College, the college made the name change amid trademark concerns.
According to the college, enrollment is just under 16,000 students.
The college is also seeing full occupancy in their dorms for the first time ever..
Over 400 students are now living on the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The new name also means the college is bringing back their athletic program.
Starting next year the college will have baseball and softball teams.
By 2016 they also plan to launch men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball.
