LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Some Lee County students spent their last day of summer at the Florida Department of Health in Lee County, waiting to get immunizations.
Students must have the required shots for the first day of school, or they will be sent home.
Parents and students packed the health department clinic on Michigan Avenue Wednesday, waiting hours to get the shots the kids need for the first day of school.
The clinic will continue to operate extended hours through the rest of this week and on Monday, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 4 p.m.
Officials say if your child still needs his or her shots, arrive at the office early, have all of your immunization records, and be prepared to wait.
