LEE COUNTY, Fla.- There will be no state investigation into members of the Lee County School Board. That is the decision of from Tallahassee.
The Florida Department of Education confirms the Inspector General will not investigate members, including Jeanne Dozier, because they feel the matter isn't within the department's jurisdiction. Board member Tom Scott sent a request to state officials, accusing Dozier of illegal behavior.
Parents have had enough of the drama.
"They seem to only take personal interests in themselves and not with our community and not with our children," said Sannestine Fortine, a parent.
"If someone has done something wrong, I'm all for taking the right kind of disciplinary action up to, and including, dismissal," said Tom Scott, of the Lee Public School Board.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has already looked over Scott's complaint against Dozier. Investigators say her actions did not seem criminal. Scott plans to send his complaint on to the ethics committee.
