COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Some big money is on its way to the School District of Collier County.

Governor Scott has present a check for $2.5 million to the county part of the Florida's school recognition program. The money will be split among Collier schools, with high schools seeing a majority of the funds.

The school recognition program financially rewards schools based on sustained or significantly improved student achievement in reading, mathematics, science, and writing.
