LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Four more state schools are accepting the Governor's challenge to make college more affordable.

Governor Scott is asking state schools to develop quality Bachelor's Degree programs that would cost students no more than $10,000. This will mean huge savings for Florida families.

Currently, in-state tuition at a public, four-year school is about $24,000. The Governor's request would mean a difference of $14,000.

The Governor's office says more than half of Florida's 28 state schools are taking part in the program, or have expressed interest in it. Many of the programs will be in high-demand areas, including information technology, business and management, education and engineering.

Today, four schools including Brevard Community College and South Florida State College are joining in. Edison State College students say saving all of that money would help keep them from graduating in debt. We contacted Edison and the president told us the school is reviewing the Governor's proposal.
