LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Students at Edison State College moved into the new dorms on Monday.
Lighthouse Commons is expected to have 325 new students, by the end of move-in day. The brand new, $26 million dorm rooms are a new addition to Edison State. The project started back in April and are just now getting residents.
Although, enrollment is down about seven percent this semester, the school says demand for the dorms has been high.
The building features 405 bedrooms, a fitness center and several common areas.
The dorms are 80 percent and Edison is still accepting applications to move in. Prices average around 600 to 700 a month, and financial aid can be applied toward that cost.
The first day of classes is Thursday.
