LEE COUNTY, Fla - Lee County public school employee Corinne Nelson has been named the 2011 School Nurse of the Year by the Florida Association of School Nurses (FASN.)
Ms. Nelson is the District’s Health Specialist for the Early Head Start /Head Start Programs serving pregnant teens and children from birth to age five.
Ms. Nelson has also taken on the job of staff educator and is an active participant in a plethora of local committees, such as the Early Coalition, Safety and Developmental Committee, the American Red Cross, Head Start Health Advisory, the Florida Partnership for School Readiness, and the Motor and Physical Development Domain Committee.
In addition to her involvement with many local, state and federal committees, Ms. Nelson is a charter member of FASN, having served in a variety of responsibilities and roles, including President from 2003-2005.
