FORT MYERS, Fla - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office held their DARE Program graduation.
The ceremony was held at Kingsway Elementary School on Friday. .
Parents, friends and family watched as 125 fifth graders cross the stage to receive their graduation certificates.
The Sheriff's office also introduced new mascot Daren the lion at the ceremony.
Charlotte County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer DFC April Strejcek said, “Daren was a big hit with the kids; they went crazy when he came into the cafeteria.”
The program teaches students about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
