LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Southwest Florida Reading Festival draws an estimated 18,000 people to Downtown Fort Myers every year to meet best selling authors and take part in fun activities on the city's waterfront.
Most of the authors are already in town, and in fact, a few lucky readers got the chance to play golf with one of the most anticipated writers here this weekend.
He's usually writing gripping crime novels, but today, author Phillip Margolin was gripping his golf clubs with a few lucky readers.
Glenda Craft and two of her friends entered a contest to play golf at Grandezza with Margolin in advance of this weekend's festival.
Margolin is one of the dozens of acclaimed authors driving this weekend's festival. He said he is looking forward to meeting his readers and the other authors.
"I'm as much a fan as I am a writer, and it gives me a chance to meet some writers I like," said Margolin.
Margolin will be doing a presentation at tomorrow's Reading Festival at 10:15 a.m. in the Harborside Event Center, and will be signing his books both in the morning and afternoon.
