LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Teen bands of all genres can now enter the Reading Rocks! Teen Battle of the Bands. The top three bands will receive prize packages and will perform live at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival March 15.
All bands are encouraged to upload an audio or video recording to YouTube and to provide the link and complete the entry form at www.Howlgallery.com by Feb. 15. The contest is open to bands of two or more individuals who are residents of Lee County and are between the ages of 13 to 19 years old on the date of entry. Proof of age is required.
The bands will be judged by a combination of judge’s panel (60 percent) and online voting (40 percent). Online voting will be open from Feb. 16 -23. The final battle at the Reading Festival will be determined by crowdsource voting provided by Cat Country Radio (40 percent of the total score) and the points given by the judge’s panel (60 percent of the total score). The judge’s panel will evaluate each band on musical skill, ensemble, originality, musicianship and stage presence.
The first place prize includes an eight-hour studio recording session at Sonic Recording Studios, a professional photo from Snap Flash Photo and a feature article in Spot Music Magazine.
