FORT MYERS, Fla.- Zombicon will go on.
The City of Fort Myers confirmed organizers paid the deposit, just before today's deadline.
The City asked for half of this year's cost, $19,000, up front. The money covers the cost of cleanup and security.
The organizers will be asking for a $5 donation for this year's event, but no one will be turned away. They will also be collecting canned food donations.
There will also be more entry points that will be managed better in hopes to generate a number of how many zombies attend.
This Saturday's street party is expected to draw thousands of people to the Downtown River District. The event begins at 4:00 p.m.
