NAPLES, Fla. - The city of Naples is celebrating a new holiday.
City council declared it Lazaro Arbos Day, after the Naples resident and American Idol contestant.
Arbos made it among the top 6 finalists before being voted off the show last week.
Wednesday afternoon, the city declared a day in his honor and presented him with a key to the city.
Arbos, a graduate of Gulf Coast High School, was recognized for his inspiring story. He has a stutter and overcomes it all when he sings.
Arbos will tour with the final 12 contestants this summer. He says he is in talks to be on the TV show Glee, but those plans are not finalized right now.
