WASHINGTON (AP) - Some Catholic and Protestant protesters are getting themselves arrested in front of the White House to demonstrate their refusal to comply with the health care law's birth control mandate.

The Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, says 22 protesters were arrested Saturday for demonstrating in a restricted area, and more planned to risk arrest Sunday.

Mahoney told more than 100 supporters in Lafayette Park on Sunday that Christians had to take a stand for religious liberty.

The Acts 5:29 protest, which runs through Tuesday, is named after a New Testament verse in which Jesus' apostles declare that they must obey God rather than the unjust decrees of rulers.

Catholics at the protest prayed the rosary together Sunday as Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (seh-BEEL'-yuhs) spoke at St. John's Episcopal Church next to the park.
