U.S. Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fort Myers, was appointed vice chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere today in Washington, according to our partners at the News-Press.

“I am excited and honored to join the Foreign Affairs Committee as vice chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere,” Radel said. “We have a tremendous opportunity to work with the countries in our hemisphere, to strengthen our national security at home and foster trade that will bring jobs right here to Southwest Florida.”
