TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida Democrats fundraising efforts yielded more than $1.1 million during the first three months of this year.
The Florida Democratic Party filed its latest campaign report Wednesday.
The tally is in line to what Democrats have traditionally raised during non-election years. Allison Tant was elected chairwoman to the party in late January so she was in not in charge during the entire period.
Some major donors to the Democrats include unions, well known law firm and utilities such as Florida Power & Light.
The campaign report also shows that Democrats donated $250,000 to veterans groups. Democrats contributed money to the groups in the wake of campaign contributions the party had received from those affiliated with Allied Veterans of the World. An investigation into the charity has resulted in arrests.
