LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County will not appeal a court ruling that will cost more than one million taxpayer dollars.
A judge says commissioners took money from tourist taxes to pay lobbyists in Tallahassee. That was an improper use of the tax money from hotel room rentals.
Commissioners voted today not to appeal that ruling. Instead, they will use reserve funds to re-pay more than $1 million dollars for tourism development.
