FORT MYERS, Fla.- President Obama took the stage at the Harborside Event Center at around 10:30 Friday morning.

He responded to this morning's tragic shooting in Colorado, where at least 12 people were killed at a movie theater. One suspect is in custody.

The event in Southwest Florida was originally scheduled as a campaign rally.

"Again, I am so grateful that all of you are here. I am so moved by your support. But there are going to be other days for politics. This, I think, is a day for prayer and reflection," the President said, just before leading the crowd in a moment of silence.

President Obama's speech only lasted 10 minutes and as he walked off stage, the crowd erupted in cheers of, "Four more years!"

The President was scheduled to make a stop in Orlando, but cancelled that event in light of the Colorado shooting. He returned to Washington after departing Fort Myers.
