WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - State Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater says he's considering entering the Republican primary for Senate.
Atwater tells The Palm Beach Post (http://bit.ly/I1dT8t) he's "been asked by a number of people" about entering the contest to take on Sen. Bill Nelson and he's "going to consider it."
Rep. Connie Mack, former Sen. George LeMieux and businessman Mike McCalister are already competing for the GOP nomination.
Atwater is a former Florida Senate president who won the CFO job in 2010.
