FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Scammers strike every single day. When you're the victim, there is one group in particular that you can turn to. But now, thieves are targeting that too. Con-artists are using the Better Business Bureau's name and reputation to rip you off.

The BBB of West Florida says it has received more than 30 complaints from people who claim they've received calls from someone claiming to be with the organization. The calls come from 813-864-6389, the BBB has established an online profile where you can submit a complaint if you have received one of these calls.

The caller usually has a foreign accent and claims to be with the BBB. They then attempt to get money by either posing as debt collectors or as lottery officials.

Remember that that BBB will never call you about debts or lotteries. They also won't ask you for personal information like your social security number or birth dates.

Those are red flags that the people on the other end are trying to rip you off.
