FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The owner of a local gun school is under the state's microscope.
WINK News Call For Action has exposed the owner and his questionable training methods before. Now we've learned the Division of Agriculture Law Enforcement has opened an investigation into Ken Silver, the owner and operator of the Gun School in Bonita Springs.
In February, WINK News Call For Action showed you undercover video of one of Silver's classes. Three volunteers took Silver's concealed weapons permit class.
The state of Florida requires you to handle and fire a real gun before you can receive your permit.
But our investigation showed the gun training at Silver's class was questionable. It took place in a conference room, where students fired two rounds at a corkboard.
We showed the video to two experts who said the students appeared to be firing either a pellet gun or an airsoft gun.
The state can't confirm to us what investigators are looking at or how long the investigation will last. Trust WINK News to keep you updated.
