NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Almost a year after a local woman got an elevator lift installed at her home, it still wasn't working right. But it got fixed quickly after she made a Call for Action.

Joyce Richardson installed the automatic lift at her home, after her husband experienced some health problems.

"Then I ended up using it more than my husband," she said.

Joyce needs the help of her automatic lift to get in and out of her house. But after spending $8,300 to get it installed, she wasn't getting the help she needed.

"Within a few days I noticed there were things going on, wrong with it. It wasn't working properly," she explained.

From loud noises, to shaking, to stopping mid-ride, for nearly a year, she battled with the company to get it fixed for good.

"Every time I called they would get a little disgusted, you know with me," said Joyce

Finally, at her wits end, a friend offered some advice.

"She said, 'Joyce, if you call WINK News they'll help you out.' And I said, 'Call WINK News? Uh, are you sure?' She said 'yes.' "

After her call to WINK News Call for Action, the company responded.

"He called me an hour after," recalled Joyce from the conversation she had with the elevator lift installer. "He had asked me if I had called WINK News and I had said yes I did. What else was I going to do?"

Now her lift is fixed and she couldn't be happier with how Call for Action worked.

"I've already told a few people in the park, you need to do this. If you have a problem, call them, they're great," Joyce said.
