CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Dan Ashby, the stepfather of Cape Coral soldier Corey Kent,  says after taking photographs and lodging complaints he is starting to receive correspondence from Senator Bill Nelsons office concerning conditions at James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa.

WINK News passed the photos along to Senator Bill Nelson who promised to investigate the claims. Ashby says he now has a letter from the Senator's office that describes a timeline Haley Hospital administrators are using to address complaints.

But Ashby says the letter is just that, a letter. He wants to see action. Private First Class Corey Kent has been transferred to Walter Reed hospital to continue to recover from devastating injuries he suffered in Afghanistan. Kent's stepfather says it is no longer about Corey's care, but that of all Veterans who pass through the doors of the James A Haley VA Hospital. Dan Ashby says he will continue to fight for them.
