CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is warning cattle owners to keep a watch on their livestock since the higher beef prices could lead to modern-day cattle rustling.

The Agricultural Unit has asked for deputies assigned to other units as well as members of the public to keep an eye out for any unusual activity in and around pastures.

“If you see anything out of the ordinary going on in a pasture,” Treworgy said, “please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 so we can check it out.”
