FORT MYERS, Fla. - For the weekend warrior, the challenge of any home project is getting the job done well, and for as little cost as possible.
When WINK News consumer reporter Cayle Thompson set out to paint the inside of his home, he found an opportunity to test different brands of painter's tape, including the widely known "Frog Tape."
According to product advertisements, Frog Tape's patented "paint block technology" helps keep color from bleeding through on baseboards and other trim. Cayle purchased a roll from Walmart for a little more than $5.
He also purchased a few other brands, including Scotch Blue's 3-M painter's tape for about $2.50, half the cost of Frog Tape.
Following product tips for paint prep, Cayle found Frog Tape delivered on its promise, with clean lines on the trim. But he also got clean lines with Scotch Blue's 3-M tape, as well.
Does Frog Tape work? We say: Yes... to both products. Weekend warriors know prep work is half the battle. Whether you choose the more expensive Frog Tape, or decide to save on a another product, follow the instructions and take your time. In the end, you'll be more likely to achieve the results you want.
