SEATTLE (AP) - A waste collection company and its striking drivers have announced a tentative agreement to end an eight-day walkout that has left bags spilling from trash cans in Seattle and nearby cities.

Waste Management and Teamsters Local 117 announced the agreement Wednesday evening. Their statement says union leadership will recommend that striking recycling and yard waste truck drivers approve the pact Thursday morning.

The two sides say garbage truck drivers will return to work Thursday. The garbage drivers, represented by a different Teamsters local, have been honoring the strikers' picket lines.
