FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - With gas prices on the rise, officials with Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau are offering tourists a little financial help.

President Nicki Grossman says the agency will offer $25 gas cards to summer hotel guests who book a two-night stay at select hotels through its website or Facebook page.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://sunsent.nl/xEUTUB ) reports the agency is prepared to spend up to $100,000 for gas cards and another $100,000 to promote the offer.

Grossman told the newspaper that having guests in the hotel rooms is worth the price of the gas cards.
