CHICAGO (AP) — Grains futures climbed Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for September delivery surged 60 cents to $7.8575 a bushel, while September corn added 3.25 cents to $4.035 a bushel and oats for September delivery rose 1.75 cents to $2.82 a bushel. November soybeans jumped 4.75 cents to $10.29 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle rose 0.5 cent to 96.27 cents a pound; August feeder cattle lost 0.9 cent to $1.127 a pound; October lean hogs fell 2.85 cents to 76.1 cents a pound; and August pork bellies gained 4.5 cents to $1.185 a pound.
