A Cape Coral man was arrested Wednesday after police say he rear-ended a parked officer’s patrol car.

Phillip Plumlee, 60, had a blood alcohol level of .225 at the time, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.

The officer was inside his vehicle along the 1900 block of Pine Island Road NW when Plumlee drove his motorcycle into the back of the patrol car, police said. Plumlee was thrown from the bike and landed in the roadway. The officer got out of his car and checked on Plumlee, who was taken to the hospital with injuries.

He was later arrested on charges of DUI with a BAC over .15, and DUI causing property damage. He was released late Wednesday on $3,000 bond.

The officer was not injured.
