Firefighters extinguish North Fort Myers house fire on Jolly Rd

North Fort Myers Fire Control & Rescue Service District is responding to a house fire along the 900 block of Jolly Road in North Fort Myers Friday.

Firefighters confirm five people were inside the home when it caught fire. One person was injured, but it was not caused by the fire. They were taken to the hospital to treat a laceration to their arm. A dog was also in the home and got out safe.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to extinguish the fire after responding to the scene. However, they say they home is damaged beyond repair.

The neighborhood scene is just west of Orange Grove Boulevard, south of Pondella Road.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
