In what deputies called a “wrestling match,” they captured a 9-foot alligator near a school bus stop in Golden Gate Thursday morning.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a “massive gator” in a residential neighborhood in Golden Gate Thursday morning.

Kids were waiting nearby at their bus stop, but we’re pretty sure this critter wasn’t heading to school, CCSO said in a social media post.

Trapper Ray Simonsen, Cpl. Jerrod Carver from the Agricultural Unit and Cpl. Edward Costello got a hold of the 9-ft male alligator so he could be removed.

No one was hurt from the incident.
