Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno On Tuesday Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno hosted an event to kick off his election campaign to become to keep his job as Sheriff. Sheriff Marceno was appointed to his current position after Sheriff Mike Scott retired in 2018. WINK News talked to Marceno about why he wants to retain his position at the Sheriff’s Office. “It’s an honor to serve with men and women of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. We have some absolute stars. Lee County is a safe place to live and it’s only getting better,” Marceno said. In the 2020 election Sheriff Marceno will be running against James Leavens, who is a 30 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office.
