Hundreds of new jobs are coming to Southwest Florida as part of a big company’s multi-million dollar investment into the area.

Alta Resources has invested $21 million into the area and is building a huge new campus off Daniels Parkway near the airport, and is expected to create 800 jobs, which will double their number of employees.

Positions for sales and customer service representatives are already posted on the website. Employees have said these come with great benefits.

Fort Myers was in the running with three other states, but ultimately ended up being the choice for Alta, and the county just finalized the incentive package on Monday.

To back the company, $39,000 in taxpayers money was allocated. The payoff for this will be dozens of jobs with salaries of at least $45,000 expected to be created. And the deal will create hundreds of additional jobs at entry-level positions.

“Wow, 800 jobs that’s great.. any company that’s expanding they have to consider the low unemployment rate. We have seen wages start to increase Alta’s very competitive in this market not only with wages but the benefit packages they offer,” said Jim Wall, who is a Career Source Communications Director.

Alta says in order for them to fill all of these positions they will host a career fair on May 1, at Hertz Arena. The global company plans to finish the new building by November of 2020.
