You’re about to head back north for the summer and your panty is full of food you don’t know what to do with. Before throwing it away, consider donating it to feed the hungry.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank is encouraging winter residents to donate their unopened food rather than throwing it.

The “Donated not Wasted” Lee County food rescue is taking place from April 8-22.

You can look for collection containers at any Lee County library and select parks and recreation facilities.
