State troopers arrested a man wanted for a 2017 hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Fort Myers.

Florida Highway Patrol arrested Camilo Nunez Estevez, 40, Friday for leaving the scene of the crash that killed Felipe Hernandez Pasa.

The crash happened at the intersection of State Road 80 (Palm Beach Boulevard) and Figuera Avenue on Sept. 3, 2017.

According to the FHP, Pasa, 36, was killed around 12:09 a.m. when a Toyota approaching the intersection of Palm Beach Blvd. and Figuera Ave. hit Pasa as he was walking north across the intersection.

According to FHP, the vehicle was determined to be a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan. Surveillance video showed the driver and passenger leave the minivan after the crash to look at front before leaving the scene.

Troopers eventually found the Toyota during the investigation, impounding it and identified Estevez and arrested him. He also faces a felony charge for tampering with evidence.

No information on the whereabouts or identity of the passenger involved in the crash were detailed in the FHP press release.
