Mark Sievers and the late Dr. Teresa Sievers Attorneys for two suspects accused of being involved in the killing of Teresa Sievers appeared before a judge Wednesday after the state and defense requested a delay in the trial start date. The request was to delay an already scheduled June 3 trial to September, but Judge Bruce Kyle did not approve the motion for continuance yet, and instead set a pretrial conference for May 9 at 8:30 a.m. to reassess. The judge said he wants to see what they can get done by then. The state’s request for a continuance came after prosecutors received a trace evidence analysis report from the FBI on February 25. Attorneys say the report will require further investigation by the State as to the matters contained in the report and the State may not be ready for trial.
