A teen was injured after he was hit by a car while walking to school.

Cape Coral police Department confirmed a teenager was hit by a car while walking to school Monday morning.

The crash happened at Burnt Store Road and NW 9th Terrace in Cape Coral.

The mother of the teen told us her 15-year-old son was walking to Mariner High School when it was still dark outside.

“He was knocked unconscious,” the mother said. “He was bloody. His face is in pretty bad shape, but he will be OK.”
