Some of us are still dealing with the damage Hurricane Irma left behind. And if you need help getting back on your feet, you have four days left to apply for the Rebuild Florida program.

The program helps low-income families pay for home repairs that are still unfinished after Irma hit in September 2017.

The program gives priority to families with children and elders as well as individuals with disabilities.

The executive director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity said many people are still struggling, even after insurance payouts and help from other government programs.

“There are still blue tarps on roofs and people suffering,” said. Ken Lawson, Executive Director, Department of Economic Opportunity. “We want to make sure that those who have been harmed by Irma know that we haven’t forgotten at DEO. We are here to assist them with restoring their home.”

The deadline is Friday.
