Authorities responded to a brush fire on Bowling Road and Lost Lane in North Fort Myers Monday.

The fire is in the area of Prairie Pines Preserve, which is also adjacent to Mellow Drive, North Tamiami trail (U.S. 41) and area homes.

A Lee County fire investigator told WINK News, as of 7:12p.m., 100 percent of the fire has been contained. This is over 25 acres of affected area with two separate fired. No required evacuations have been made

The fire investigator said crews are checked the area for arson samples.

Crews will respond to the area again at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to make sure hot spots are safe. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Correction: In an alert sent through the WINK News app, the fire containment was attributed to Florid Forest Service. The article has since been corrected to the appropriate source, which is a Lee County fire investigator.
