Photo via CBS News. The victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident on March 12 has been identified, but Florida Highway Patrol say they are still searching for the driver that fled the scene. According to a press release from FHP, Gilbert Pena-Gutierrez, 50, was laying on State Road 80 between the right lane and right turn lane when a vehicle ran over the him before speeding off from the scene. The release also says a second vehicle ran over Pena-Gutierrez as he was laying in the middle of the road, but made a U-turn and returned to check on him. The model of the car that sped from the scene is unknown, but is being described as a silver sedan. FHP’s press release also indicates that additional cars may have ran over the pedestrian before leaving the scene.
