One person killed in Oil Well Road crash in Naples

One person was killed in a car crash involving two vehicles on Oil Well Road and Oil Well Grade Road Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Emily Acosta, 20, of Hialeah Gardens, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic westbound on Oil Well Road where she lost control of the vehicle and started to turn in a counterclockwise motion, FHP said.

According to the press release, Acosta traveled into the eastbound lane of Oil Well Road causing a truck to hit the left rear of the Honda Civic. Acosta was pronounced dead on scene.

Acosta had one passenger who sustained serious injuries and was transported to NCH North Naples Hospital, FHP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
