A Trooper gave a ride to a man walking adjacent to the roadway on Interstate 75. When they arrived at the destination, the man threw a notebook at the Trooper and demanded that he fight him.

The suspect, Aramis Cabezudo-Esquilin, 23, was arrested by Florida Highway Patrol for Simple Assault on LEO, which can carry up to five years in prison, Saturday.

On Saturday after 8:30 a.m., a Trooper approached Cabezudo-Esquilin as he was walking on I-75 at MM 65, informing him that it is illegal to walk there. The Trooper would give Cabezudo-Esquilin a ride to SR-29.

During the drive, Cabezudo-Esquilin was silent in the vehicle, looking outside the window. When they arrived at SR-29, the Trooper exited the police vehicle and walked to the rear door.

Upon opening the door, Cabezudo-Esquilin threw a plastic spiral notebook into his face and said he wanted to fight him, per the FHP press release. A taser shock by the Trooper put Cabezudo-Esquilin to the ground.

Cabezudo-Esquilin has been transported to Collier County Jail.
