The suspect has been charged with Disturbing the Peace and Possession of a Firearm While on School Property. On Feb. 8, Lee County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a student possessing a weapon at Cypress Lake High School, the LCSO press release states. The 16-year-old was found with a firearm in his backpack. “My top priority is the safety of students and our school campuses,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said. “Make no mistake, we have zero tolerance and will arrest anyone who brings a weapon to school or threatens our children.”
