5 suspects are on the run after stealing 100 cartons of cigarettes

Five people suspected of stealing over $7,000 of cigarettes are on the run.

On Jan. 25, five unknown suspects between the ages of 17-years-old to 21-years-old entered a Wal-Mart at the 300 block of Kings Hwy in Punta Gorda where they plundered 25 cartons of cigarettes.

Upon entering the discount department and grocery store, the five people went to the luggage section of the store. Four of the suspects grabbed a bag and proceeded to the front of the store, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

While one person stood as a lookout as the four other suspects filled a bag with approximately 25 cartons of cigarettes valued at $7,885, per the press release. They immediately walked out of the store and into a silver SUV.
