Money raised this weekend by the Naples Children and Education Foundation will go to support dozens of children charities in Collier County. Teens and children who benefit from 39 charities spent the morning eagerly sharing their successes with more than 380 people gathered in their support.

NCEF’s Naples Winter Wine Festival kicked off Friday morning at Naples Botanical Garden with “Meet the Kids Day.”

Festival goers said it’s the most important part of the festival weekend.

“It really gives everyone that’s coming to the auction a real sense of what the funds under the tent will bring in the lives of so many children,” said Susie McCurry, an NCEF trustee.

Festival goers got a chance to meet some of the children who benefit from funds raised at auction.

Dozens of booths lined lush gardens representing the charities that benefit from this event. Many of the children were also on hand to remind festival goers that it’s more than just a big party. It’s a way to give kids a chance to thrive.

And those children were all bubbling over with gratitude today for the chance to meet the people who’ve changed their lives through donations to NCEF.

Later tonight, 18 celebrity chefs and top vintners will prepare lavish dinners for hundreds of people.

And Saturday is the big auction that will bring in millions of dollars in one afternoon.
