Two die when a motorcycle strikes a pedestrian on U.S. 41

Two people died following a motorcycle crash on U.S. 41 Saturday evening.

Roger Miller, 49, was driving a Harley-Davidson SRT GLD north in the inside lane of U.S. 41 approaching the intersection of Leisure Lane in North Fort Myers. Miller had a passenger, Amy Melick, 49, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Pauline Griffiths, 70, was crossing the northbound lanes of U.S. 41. Suddenly, the Harley-Davidson struck her.

Both Miller and Griffiths were pronounced dead on the scene. Melick was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, per the FHP press release.
