Coast Guard families find many donations from the community

Canned goods and everyday items are getting packed for families in need.

Ever since the government shutdown, Coast Guard families are struggling to get basic necessities.

But a storefront will continue to be open until the government shutdown is over. It is open one day a week, Wednesday, for people to drop-off donations and for Coast Guard families to shop.

In a matter of days, Sea Tow and other local businesses have collected countless donations, such as diapers, formula, even $8,000 in gift cards.
