A Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy under investigation for an incident at a Cape Coral bar is no longer with the sheriff’s office.

The incident involving Michael Newborn happened at Big Ten Tavern December 18.

The deputy was with a man at the bar who police say was acting drunk and was eventually arrested. However, the arrest report did not go into detail on the deputy’s involvement.

WINK News reviewed Newborn’s personnel file. It states he has been with the agency since January and was still in his probationary period at the time of the incident.
