Register for healthcare! ACA open enrollment deadline is Saturday

Your deadline to sign up for a healthcare policy for 2019 with the Affordable Care Act is this Saturday.

Open enrollment started on November 1 and ends December 15, and so far millions of Americans have signed up for health care coverage through HealthCare.gov., according to Get America Covered.

Healthcare.gov says that as of December 8, 999,045 Floridians have selected a 2019 plan during open enrollment.

  • Sign up by December 15. Open Enrollment ends December 15, no matter if this is your first time getting covered or if you are returning to shop and save with a new plan.
  • Coverage is cheaper than ever before. 8 in 10 people qualify for financial help to make their monthly premiums more affordable. In fact, 80% of Americans can find a plan that costs less than $75 each month, Get America Covered said.
    • In fact, recent data from the Kaiser Family Foundation shows that across the country, many people will be able to find comprehensive plans with premiums as low as $0.
    • In 2 out of 3 counties in America a 40-year-old making $25,000/year can find a bronze plan with monthly premiums of zero dollars.This year many even will be able to find gold plans with much lower deductibles that cover more of someone’s out of pocket costs for $0.
    • A 40-year-old individual making $25,000 can find a gold plan with $0 premiums in 153 counties this year, compared to only 33 counties last year.
  • Get ready to shop and save. If you had coverage through HealthCare.gov for 2018, you should come back to update your information and compare your options for 2019. Every year, plans and prices change, you could save money by switching to a new plan that still meets your needs.
