Wells Fargo bank robbed in Lehigh Acres

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirms a bank robbery in Lehigh Acres Wednesday afternoon.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help tracking down an armed suspect who robbed the Wells Fargo branch around 2:44 p.m.

A man entered the bank, located at 1130 Homestead Road N., Crime Stoppers said. The suspect approached a teller and held a gun in clear sight, while demanding all the cash from the drawer.  The teller complied and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.  Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or by submitting a tip on the P3Tips mobile app.
